Since its inception, the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Texas (BGCSCT) has proudly served the youth of Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe and Hays counties. BGCSCT provides children with a safe place to learn and grow, provide ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals, offer life-enhancing programs and character development experiences, and hope and opportunity for all members. The mission of the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Texas is to enable young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Education Page | 3 and hard work are valued, and creativity and innovation are rewarded. They believe that earning public trust through outreach is a daily practice. BGCSCT runs two charter schools, the Texas Preparatory School – San Marcos and the Texas Preparatory School – Austin. The San Marcos site also operates Boys and Girls Club programs after school, and its extension in Luling runs a 6-week summer program. Their National Fine Arts program has a long and rich history across the country. Recently, one of their third-grade students won first place in printmaking at the Regional Art Exhibit in Fort Worth and is moving on to compete at the national level. Art Squared recognizes the valuable services that the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Texas offers to our community.
